On Saturday, Sept. 13 you can get your golf fix and help a good cause at the 10th Annual Tanya Whitsel-Cain Golf Tournament.

The tournament at The Woodlands at Chateau Elan has a $120-per-player entry fee to raise money for college scholarships for Central Gwinnett High School students. Tee off is at 11:30 a.m. and participation includes free use of the driving range, lunch and dinner. Those who want to participate without playing golf can purchase dinner for $25.

The Tanya Whitsel Cain Memorial Scholarship Fund to date has awarded ten scholarships of $1,000 a year to students who maintained a 3.0 grade point average. Whitsel Cain was killed in a car crash on Ga. Highway 316 in 1999. For more information, contact organizer Sherry Anton at 678-828-9377 or sherry.anton@live.com.

A new golf scramble is offering a guaranteed first-place prize of $2,000 while also doing some good for one lucky student.

The first All American Security Scholarship Scramble is planned for an 8 a.m. shotgun start Sept. 16 at Calderone Golf Club, 4490 Willis Road in Grass Lake.

Four-person teams can consist of no more than one professional golfer, and the cost to participate is $75 per golfer. The entry fee includes a catered luncheon, door prizes and awards. There will also be a silent auction and the chance to win a new car if a golfer scores a hole-in-one.

In addition to the golf and luncheon, participants will receive a scholarship application that can be filled out by a college-bound student. A five-person panel will select a winner, who will receive a $2,500 scholarship.

For more information or for sponsorship opportunities, call All American Security, 2019 E. High St., at 517-605-3846.
