Golf classic raises $34K for Newtown's Chandler Hall Posted: 11 Jul 2010 11:44 AM PDT Chandler Hall Golf Committee Co-Chair, Tony Petsis displays a golf club for auction at the 11th Annual Golf Classic held at the Trenton Country Club. View and purchase photos Chandler Hall's 11th Annual Golf Classic, held at the Trenton Country Club, was a remarkable success. Sponsors, golfers, volunteer committee members and spectators came together to raise over $34,000 for Chandler Hall's long-term care services and hospice program. Two rain dates couldn't dampen the spirit of participants: 100 golfers joined to enjoy the Country Club's challenging fairways and fast greens. Bill Marsh Ford offered a brand new 2010 Fusion SEL for the Hole-in-One Prize. Each participant received a hybrid golf club. Many won items from the putting contest, annual dinner CBay event and the fabulous silent auction made possible by more than 30 generous donors. Co-Chair, Tony Petsis, commented, "It is great to see the community rally to support this very worthy cause. Our committee of community volunteers works hard to make this event a success …a direct result of their efforts and generous sponsor support. Every year we ask ourselves: 'What can we do to make this event even better?' I guess you will need to attend next year to find out!"
