PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- James Shields likes to grip it and rip it on the golf course, so John Daly will make for the perfect partner when Shields tees it up on Monday.

Monday is an off-day for the Rays, affording Shields the opportunity to play in the Celebrity Pro-Am for The Transitions Championship in Palm Harbor, Fla., where the Rays right-hander will be in the PGA Tour professional's foursome.

"I got an e-mail last night that said I would be playing with him," said Shields, who can drive a golf ball 350 yards. "I'll put the pressure on him a little bit."

Shields laughed.

"I think it will be a lot of fun," Shields said. "I'm looking forward to it. I'm excited."

Shields played in the same tournament last year and enjoyed being in Paul Goydos' foursome.

"I had a blast last year," Shields said. "[Goydos] was such a good guy. Another Cally guy, made me feel pretty comfortable."

Shields admitted to not being randomly selected to play with Daly, giving teammate Pat Burrell credit for setting it up.

"Pat knows him," Shields said. "He made the phone call to see if I could golf with him. I've always been a fan of [Daly's]."

Will Tiger Woods Return to Golf at the Masters?

He's back in Florida practicing his swing and he's back with his wife working on his marriage – but the real question is when will Tiger Woods come back to golf?

According to a new report, the golfer will likely make his comeback at the Masters, which starts April 5, in Augusta, Ga. Not only has Woods been practicing near his Isleworth, Fla., home for the past two weeks, but he's also had a "swing coach," Hank Haney, fly down to work with him, the Associated Press reports.

Meanwhile, golfer Mark O'Meara, a friend of Woods's, told the Golf Channel on Wednesday that he "wouldn't be surprised" if Woods first played in the Tavistock Cup, on March 22-23 in Orlando. "It might be the right spot or the right fit for him to come back," said O'Meara.

Last month, sources told PEOPLE that Woods planed to play at Tavistock, a tightly controlled competition that would mark a fairly low-key comeback into the golf world. "He has made it clear that he's planning to play," a source closed to the Tavistock Cup said at the time. "Everyone [at Tavistock] is really excited about it."

Still others believe the golf champ will instead choose the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Orlando for his return. He's never missed this tournament, which starts March 22, and it's just five minutes from his house. But, as tournament director Scott Wellington told AP yesterday: "At this point, we still don't know."
