One Colorado town is starting to look a bit like a Florida golf resort. Now that golf carts have been made street-legal in Lyons, more residents are turning to the cheap, energy-efficient carts for short trips. About 20 residents in the Boulder County town have taken to the carts after a new town ordinance made them legal on city streets. The growing popularity of golf cart transport has law enforcement reminding residents that golf cart drivers must obey regular traffic laws. Resident Sam Tallent is a golf cart driver who helped push for Lyons to make the carts legal on streets. He says people contact him weekly to ask about getting carts of their own. Tallent now sells electric golf carts to neighbors.
