Relying on her chipping and near-perfect putting to overcome several errant tee shots, Kerr shot a 6-under-par 66 on Friday to take a five-stroke lead at 10 under on the Locust Hill Country Club course. Kerr opened the day in a three-way tie for the lead, then took control by consistently scrambling out of trouble to produce a bogey-free round. She birdied four of her last five holes. Inbee Park, the 2008 U.S. Women's Open champion, and Mika Miyazato were tied for second at 5 under after 70s. Rose shoots 62 to take 4-stroke lead CROMWELL, Conn. — Justin Rose shot an 8-under 62, birdieing five consecutive back-nine holes for the second straight round, to take a four-stroke lead over Kevin Sutherland in the Travelers Championship. Rose broke the tournament record for the first 36 holes, finishing at 14-under 126. The 62 was one off the course record at TPC River Highlands. Dredge first in Munich MUNICH — Bradley Dredge of Wales had two eagles in a round for the first time in his 14-year professional career to earn a one-shot lead at the midpoint of the BMW International Open. Levi leads Champions ENDICOTT, N.Y. — In his first round on the Champions Tour, Mark Calcavecchia shot a 5-under 67 and was just two shots behind leader Wayne Levi in the Dick's Sporting Goods Open. Levi shot a 65 and had a one-shot lead over Brad Bryant and Dan Forsman. Ward leading Amateur DALLAS — Chris Ward of McKinney shot a 3-under 68 and leads the Texas Amateur by two strokes after the second round at River Oaks Country Club. Ward leads Bryant Lach of The Woodlands, who shot 66, by two strokes. Austin's Scott Roudebush, a senior at TCU, and Texas sophomore Cody Gribble are 3 under. Roudebush played his way into contention with a 67. Gribble shot a 71. Tied for third at 5 under are James Kwon (Houston), Chris Brown (Garland), Garrett Driver (Humble), and Michael Whitehead (Sugar Land). Sign-in will be at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Spaces are limited, so call early to reserve your spot. The format will be a four person scramble. Participation fee will be $200 per four person team and will cover green fees, cart fees and lunch. Door prizes will be awarded, as well as prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive.
