PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (AP)—Given the talent on tour, Paul Goydos is not the least bit surprised that six players were tied for the lead Friday at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Being part of that group? Under the circumstances, Goydos found that highly unusual. Goydos arrived at Spyglass Hill and headed to the putting green, only to realize he wasn't wearing golf shoes. He had left those back in his car in the main parking lot at Pebble Beach. Then, he had to tackle a course where he had never broken 70. More than five hours and seven birdies later, he had a 7-under 65 and was part of an eclectic mix of atop the leaderboard on a day when the threat of showers gave way to sunshine along the Monterey Peninsula. Defending champion Dustin Johnson was the biggest presence, even after a 2-under 68 at Monterey Peninsula in which he kept hitting it close for birdie and tapping in for par. Also at 10-under 132 were Alex Cejka (67 at Spyglass), Bryce Molder (65 at Monterey), J.B. Holmes (67 at Monterey) and Matt Jones, who had a 67 at Pebble Beach and was the only player among the leaders who has not played the Shore Course at Monterey Peninsula, the newcomer to the rotation and the only course playing as a par 70 this week. ACE Group Classic NAPLES, Fla. (AP)—Ronnie Black shot a 3-under 69 for a share of the lead with Champions Tour newcomers Fred Couples and Tommy Armour III during the suspended first round of the ACE Group Classic. Black was one of only nine players in the 81-man field to finish the round after high wind that gusted near 40 mph forced the suspension of play. Couples completed 10 holes, and Armour played 11 in the his tour debut. Paul Azinger was 1 under through 11 holes in his first Champions Tour start. Defending champion Loren Roberts was 1 over after six holes. Avantha Masters GURGAON, India (AP)—England's Barry Lane shot a 5-under 67 for a share of lead during the suspened second round of the Avantha Masters. England's John Parry and Taiwan's Chan Yin-shin matched Lane at 10 under, each with one hole left when play was stopped because of hail. Adidas, which has long given consumers the ability to personalize its iconic athletic shoes, now offers golfers the option of going to the miadidas.com to build their own Powerband 3.0 golf shoes. The Powerband 3.0 is a lightweight, technically advanced, mid- to high-end golf shoe ($140) worn by some touring professionals (the top-end Adidas shoe is the Tour 360). It has the characteristic Adidas three-stripe band at the sides, an aggressive athletic-shoe look, and incorporates the company's brand-new "thin tech" sole system, which brings the golfer lower to the ground for greater swing stability. Golfers can order the shoe in a variety of color schemes, mixing and matching leather colors, three-stripe colors (and stripe outlines), spike colors, and lace colors as well as personalizing the shoes with heel embroideries (using your nickname, for instance) or other symbols. You can even order different sizes for each foot. (My customized Powerbands, shown at left, have a size 11.5 left and an 11 right, reflecting my unique feet. Note also my penchant for muted colors. A bit of dash without the flash.) Shoes custom-ordered through miadidas.com cost about 30 percent more ($180 plus $12 shipping). Other golf shoe companies, including FootJoy, the industry leader, have moved in this direction. Adidas, No. 2 worldwide, is now nipping at their heels. Manimaran KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 — Ahli Parlimen Bayan Baru Datuk Seri Zahrain Hashim akan turut melepaskan jawatan pengerusi dan anggota lembaga pengarah Island Golf Properties Sdn Bhd, anak syarikat kerajaan negeri Pulau Pinang susulan keputusannya keluar Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) berkuat kuasa semalam. Sehubungan itu kata Zahrain, beliau akan memaklumkan secara bertulis kepada kerajaan negeri dalam waktu terdekat. "Ya, saya difahamkan (Ketua Menteri Pulau Pinang) Lim Guan Eng tidak gembira kerana saya tidak melepaskan jawatan ini... jadi saya akan menulis surat mengatakan bahawa saya akan melepaskan jawatan ini," kata beliau ketika dihubungi The Malaysian Insider. "Saya dilantik ke jawatan ini selaku kedudukan saya ketika itu sebagai pengerusi PKR... sekarang saya sudah keluar PKR, dan akan melepaskan juga jawatan ini," katanya. Ketika bercakap kepada pemberita di Pulau Pinang hari ini, Lim mempersoalkan tindakan Zahrain meletak kesemua jawatannya dalam parti, tetapi tidak sebagai pengerusi dan anggota lembaga pengarah Island Golf Properties Sdn Bhd sedangkan jawatan itu dilantik oleh kepimpinan parti dalam pakatan pembangkang. Zahrain memegang jawatan itu atas kapasiti sebagai wakil PKR sejak 9 Julai 2008. Lim berkata keretakan antara beliau dan Ahli Parlimen Bayan Baru itu berpunca apabila Zahrain gagal mendapatkan kelulusan tender bernilai RM40 juta untuk mengurus projek Bukit Jambul Golf Resort milik Island Golf Properties. Katanya, beliau tidak meluluskan tender tersebut kerana syarikat yang disokong kuat oleh Zahrain baru sahaja ditubuhkan dua bulan sebelum tender projek dikeluarkan iaitu pada akhir September 2008. Semalam, Zahrain mengumumkan keluar daripada PKR kerana kecewa dengan perjuangan parti itu dan hilang kepercayaan terhadap penasihat parti, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Selain itu, beliau yang mengisytiharkan dirinya sebagai Ahli Parlimen Bebas, berkata keputusan itu dibuat kerana tidak yakin dengan kerajaan pakatan pembangkang Pulau Pinang pimpinan Lim yang dianggapnya diktator dan berfikiran ala komunis. Mengenai desakan agar melepaskan kedudukannya sebagai Ahli Parlimen Bayan Baru, Zahrain menegaskan beliau akan kekal sehingga pilihan raya umum akan datang. "Saya tidak ada hasrat untuk berhenti sebagai wakil rakyat Bayan Baru.
